  Overall, the care here is very good. Dr. Sadie is excellent and treats my dog and my daughter’s cats like family members! I did have one very bad experience with this hospital: We had a very bad fire at our home and our animals were inside for the initial fire when temperatures had become so hot that pictures had melted down the walls! Once the fire fighters rescued the animals, our local Animal Control Officer called Herring Cove Animal Hospital to explain that my dog and my daughter's cat were in very bad shape and needed IV fluids immediately. She was informed that the hospital was closed (at 3pm on a Thurs) and there was NO on call Vet. available. We were told that we would have to drive these exhausted and shock ridden animals up the cape to an emergency care facility for treatment! The Animal Control Officer was furious because our animals are patients of this hospital! We were fortunate that a visiting Vet from out of town was staying across the street on a vacation. He dropped EVERYTHING on Carnival day to care for our pets and told us that they may not have survived had they not been treated immediately! It wasn’t bad enough that we lost so much on that day, but we nearly lost our beloved pets when there is a local animal hospital seconds away; yet no one there could assist us in a dire emergency!

  Usually good docs; Lousy practice. Our dogs have been treated by Dr. Hutchins and she is an excellent Vet. But she is not the owner of this practice and she does not set policy. Despite her good care, this clinic is constantly seeking to impose additional and unnecessary charges. Their follow up is horrible. They will charge hundreds in lab tests but never call to report the results. There is no alternative here in Provincetown. A good outcome would be to keep the Vet but abandon the owners of this clinic.
